Welcome to the Miro flat

The Miro flat is set inside the walls of the Var, the castle district, of Budapest high up on a rocky outcrop overlooking the Danube. The Var is a World Heritage Site full of palaces, churches and ancient houses.

The Miro flat

interior 2The Miro apartment is on the ground floor of a lovely solid early 19 century building on a tree-lined walkway overlooking the Buda hills. In thirty seconds you can be on the ramparts overlooking the Buda hills. In two minutes level walk you can be looking out across the Danube to the gothic parliament with a coffee or a glass of wine in your hand.

There is a cafe (the Miro cafe) almost outside the front door, which is atmospheric and serves excellent breakfasts and cocktails. Within 10 minutes walk there are 5 high standard restaurants and The Russwurm, a traditional Austro-Hungarian cafe famed for its coffee and patisserie.

The area allows only special access for resident’s cars and taxis, so is it is very low on traffic. There is a constantly circulating small bus which takes you in a few minutes to Moszkva square on the red underground line, from which you can reach everywhere else in Budapest cheaply, comfortably and quickly. Moszkva Square has excellent shopping.
